The Barbarian

Introduction

One of the stoic guardians of Mount Arreat, The Barbarian was the first character class announced by Blizzard. Described as a savage, the character wears plate armor and wields ferocious weapons to annihilate the demon forces threatening the Sanctuary.

At first glance the Barbarian seems quite similar to its successor in Diablo II, and there are many similarities to boot. Leap Attack and Whirlwind are two skills "ported" from Diablo II, but the character definitely has some enhancements and retooling behind itself.

The Barbarian (like every class in D3) can either be male or female on character creation. While the back story of the female version of the character is not currently known, Blizzard has confirmed the male version to be the same character players had seen in Diablo II.

Skills

The Barbarian has three skill trees, each divided into Tiers 1 through 4. Many of the skills seen are similar to its successor in Diablo II, but much more vicious and unforgiving.
